But modifications made to the Default paragraph style (and therefore to the Default and all other character styles) don't cascade to the character styles. Example: change the language, the font, ... of the Default paragraph style => the character styles still show the former configuration. However, if you apply any character style, the new settings are taken into account (language for spell check, font, ...).
