These kind of incompatibilities cannot be avoided unless OOo Basic supports overriding of built-in identifiers. This is a general pro- blem as VB supports this. So as this issue has been set to the wrong component anyway I will use it to address this general problem. Summery -> Support overriding of built-in identifiers in OOo Basic Component -> Scripting Target -> OOo 3.x STARTED ab->joeconner: Sorry, but for now you can only rename your replace function or use the built-in one in OOo 3.0 in case your one was designed to simulate the original VB functionality.
