Applied. Thanks.

Yes, my fault. Fixed now.

Hi,
the soundcard gameport doesn't entirely work with my analog joystick
(Logitech Wingman Light, 3 axes, 2 buttons) on the gameport of the
Hercules Digifire 7.1; the two buttons do work, however, no axis movement
is registered.
The gameport is initialized on alsa startup, the relevant modules

Hehe! ;-)
Is there a list anywhere listing the differences between OSS and ALSA
with regard to sound card hardware.
It would be nice to have a nice small list

How can this list be NONE!
We need to add Creative for their SB Live Dell edition (emu10k1x) and
the SB Audigy LS.
Well, have we a response from Creative that they're not willing to give us
I'd add also Yamaha YMF-744B [DS-1S Audio Controller] --
on Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptops -- that used to work with ALSA
0.5 but works randomly with newer versions. The OSS drivers
are fine. :)
Cheers,

What do you think of my bug report on ALSA OSS emulation of /dev/sequencer?
I posted it at

It would be nice to have a nice small list of all the sound hardware OSS
supports, but ALSA does not.
Then the intention would be to reduce that list to no entries by

add aplaymidi arecordmidi utilities
Having these command-line utilities is very useful. Previously there
were only the old OSS command-line programs like (x)playmidi and drvmidi.

Very easy.

during playback, e.g. by pressing f or

SND_CTL_READONLY does not appear to be declared anywhere.
It's defined in alsa-lib/include/control.h. You have to install the
alsa-lib package before compiling alsa-utils and alsa-tools.
Are you part of the alsa development team?
SourceForge says no, the bugtracker says yes.

I emailed the contact on the Creative open source page and the answer
was they are not willing to give the specs out unless you sign an NDA
agreement which would forbid an open source driver.

We hope you can now show your ALSA friends how much better your OSS
