In order to make alsa-hdsp recognize the hdsp I had to downgrade
the firmware of the card(bus) to revision 10. There is a flash update
tool available at
http://www.rme-audio.de/english/download/
Just for informations sake, I just submitted patches to the helix
project to add native alsa support to the client.
Might also add alsa to the producer.
and am also thinking of Jackit support for both, perhaps.

i committed the documents for alsa-driver API on alsa-kernel tree CVS,
including the API reference generated from the driver source and my
tutorial document. both are in the docbook/sgml format.
