I am trying to use the MPU401 midi part of my FM801
based sound card (Abit AU10) without success.
pmidi -l only lists the external midi device and I
think this is the problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike.

I seemed to have found the solution for this by accident. While looking for
information about this problem I stumbled across a post about the Rt-Linux
project. They mentioned that disk access will override real-time scheduled
processes. So I tuned my hard disks (with hdparm) to optimal speed an

Hello,
The SiS 735 is grayed in the sound card matrix. Does this indicate that
support is in development (and therefore I should hold off purchasing an
alternate adapter)? I don't need anything fancy, just a driver that
will produce sounds for Civ/CTP. :-)

Hi -- new subscriber here.
I have a computer that uses the 2.2.14 kernel and can't be upgraded. I now
need to install ALSA to drive a audio interface. May I use the current ALSA
release or must I install a previous version?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I am using the video player xine 0.9.7 with alsa 0.9 and a SBLive 5.1 sound card.
While 4-channel sound (Analog Output...no passthrough) works quite well I was
wondering if it is possible to get the full 5.1 Analog Output. Is this possible with
the current drivers?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have a rme96/8 card. It works well enough with the alsa drivers (0.9).
It has 2 devices, 0: the spdif output and 1: the ADAT 8 channel output.
What I would like to do is to set it up so it will always use the ADAT
output, routing stereo files to channels 1-2 or 3-4 etc of the ADAT
output.
