I'm using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. I've got my stereo
hooked into the main output, and my VCR hooked into the line-in. When I
try and play sound from my line-in, I can't do it without having xmms
playing an mp3. What I do is play an mp3 but mute PCM, so I can hear
line-in, but
To reiterate the issue. I tried this after running
./cvscompile && make install for alsa-lib and alsa-driver
using the version from the CVS as of 2pm today or so.
The problem still exists.
(I also tried that 0.9rc2 version. Still had the problem.)

Hi Everybody,
has anyone been using the Jazz++ sequencer with Alsa recently ? I am
trying to use Jazz with a softsynth (iiwusynth) via /dev/sequencer.
First I installed Jazz++ ver. 4.1.3 from the binary rpm. Then I saw
patches for Jazz++ 4.1.8 on Takashi's page

I don't know, but you should try the 0.9 series, whether
from CVS or some other download. 0.5.x is very old and
has not been developed in a long time.

The basic problem is that my system locks up when I try to use the
alsa-drivers.
I'm running a RedHat 7.3 box (Dual P2-400). I'm trying to get alsa
running so I can run jack, so I can run Ardour.
I have a Soundblaster Live Value card.
I compiled and installed the what was listed as the stable d

I use envy24control program.There are "left" and "right" slidebars for each
PCM. This is why I think that PCM can be stereo.

On even simple soundc
Apologies for posting my question again. I would like to know if anyone
else encountered this problem.
With ESS-1878 sound card, es18xx driver. In summary, using 'play' (so I
assume native alsa drivers0 I get perfect sound. Addressing OSS directly
I get more or less garbage, just white noise with
