Hello Alsa community,
Help! I have two audio cards: via82xx and a ice1712
eval board. I'm using alsa 0.9.0rc6.
The ice1712 board has 8 analog input channels for
analog to digital conversion. This of course is using
the professional/multi side of the board. I want to

Hi list,
For those of you using a Midiman Delta 1010 sound card, here is a simple
asound.conf file doing the job to provide both coupled and independant channels
control. I had some trouble figuring this out, so at least, I hope it could
give you a hand,
# Asound.conf START

Hello,
Finally, I got the alsa drivers, lib and utils compiled and installed.
alsaconf allowed me to configure my pci512 card, and alsasound says the
driver is loaded.
Next step, I am using amixer to set up the system, and while I can set the
volume levels, I can't use the unmute parameter anywhe

Sure, this is the Asahi Kasei AK4540 (also identified as such by the normal OSS
driver: AC97 Codec detected: v: 0

ah, thanks!
this is something what i've already seen on the kernel oss driver, but
didn't know
By deleting one test done to the ac97 codec, the es1968 driver loads (and works). With
this I've reached the end of my debugging capabilities:
--- alsa-driver-0.9.0rc6/alsa-kernel/pci/ac97/ac97_codec.c Wed Oct 30 15:20:08

+++ debug-alsa-driver-0.9.0rc6/alsa-kernel/pci/ac97/ac97_codec.
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, I was considering posting here.
My config is 2.4.21pre4 (HIGHMEM) alsa 0.9.0rc7 , my system has 1GB memory.
(the prb was the same with 2.4.21pre3 and 0.9.0rc6)
I'm going to use esd so that /dev/dsp won't be opened every X minutes. :-)

thanks! :)
yes, my bios config seems to set some unusual ports, which might be part
of the problem - i have irq=9...
i might try the alsaconf script - never used it before, always worked by
hand...

My computer now plays music like never before. Much better then OSS,
before with OSS the volume was to low but with ALSA I can now adjust the
ogain. Also there is some strange 3D-setting that makes it sound "better"
(or different at least).
I'm very, very happy with alsa so far.
Is there a way

Hoho.. This is great! I've been using OSS cs4232 for maybe 3 years on this
old machine. I never suspected it was something else :-)
snd-cs4236 does load as it should. I get one error message though:

I just tried alsa for the first time but ran into a problem:
I use rh80 (kernel 2.4.18) and alsa 0.9.0 rc7 that I got from

Every time I reboot the mixer mutes and I have to unmute over again.
Thats number 1.
Next I can't seem to record from the line in I think I read somewhere
that I have to enable this somewhere but couldn't figure it out.
Also only one speaker out put seems to work.
