I'm trying to make SPDIF/OUT work on my onboard Realtek ALC650 (my
motherboard is Asus P4T533-C).
I can make it work in xmms using the alsa plugin, however for non-alsa
supported applications, I can only get normal analog output.
How do I enable spdif digital out for OSS?

I have never before had troubles getting alsa drivers to load, but now i get
"unresolved symbol" errors when trying to modprobe any sound module.
I use kernel 2.4.20 and alsa drviers 0.9.0rc7.
I compiled using:
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
# make
# make install
# depmod -a

I had troubles with my ice1712 sound card and rtl8139 network card.
I compiled it as modules. Modprobe was ok but devices did not work.
I tried 2.4.18 and 19.
After searching in internet I found that in November 2002
there are discussed the same problem about 8139 netcard in kernel-list.
