Last week I had xmms 1.2.7 with the alsa-xmms-0.9.11 plug-in running on
RedHat 8. I upgraded to RedHat 9 and rebuilt xmms and the 0.9.4
alsa-{driver,lib,utils}. Now, with with ALSA 0.9 output plugin
(libALSA.so) selected in xmms, I can play mp3 audio, but I hear no
sound. What's suspicious is that
Hi again,
Maybe I should post to the developers list. Myself and another user (I forget

a problem with memory leaks when running aplay.
I'm willing to do debugging etc... I don't know too much about the ALSA code
generally though
it's been fairly simple to install.

The only thing of note in the log is:

Not sure what this means. The /proc/asound/card1/stream* files don't
seem to contain any errors, content I assume is OK... or not??

I have A slackware 8.1 updated to kernel 2.4.21. I compiled it with
sound support as a module. Then downloaded alsa-driver configured and
installed. I have a VIA VT8235 card integrated in the motherboard (an

Sound works ok except for MIDI. I cannot get it to wo

Hi,
I tried to record from a vx222 on a dat device. All I got is silence (how

After a while, I saw in /proc/asound/card0/vx-status that the clock is set to

Hotplugging was the cause of the system hang, and it has since been
deactivated. The old symptoms have returned, i.e. audio dropouts for
minutes at a time when running FlightGear with ALSA's OSS emulation.

hi,
This is regarding UNDERRUN and OVERRUN.
I want to know how to come out of Underrun and Overrun in case
of full duplex. In my application, its giving underun (playback)

overcome them?Is it sufficient to call snd_pcm_prepare(han
Thanks for that. I have recompile the kernel with your
suggestions. I now get past the make modules section
without error.
Don't know if this is important since Alsa is not yet
installed but there is an "unresolved symbol" message
when the kernel boots this time the missing symbol is
