I have tried several times but could not find ALSA modules
Herebelow is my discovery;
# locate snd
/dev/sndstat
/dev/snd
/etc/sndconfig-liO1TV
/etc/sndconfig-ORaCVC

/etc/sndconfig-vqeKE1

All is working now & this is what i did
Ok I don a google search for devfs and now know
that i have not configured the kernal with DEVFS
device system .
So i went on and run ./snddevices for the
/dev/snd/* dir & files to be made.
Then shutdown & restarted my system.
All is working now alsamixer

like snd*.o). It could leave your system in an unstable state.

I have installed ALSA from the FreshRPMs. (The kernel 2.4.20-8 version
due to a V4L bug in the latest Red Hat kernel.)
I get a burst of static . . . sometimes. I get it when I jump chapters in
MPlayer (shift-period) using -vo sdl. I also get it when I get a "system
