Hi, i know this is offtopic but the debian mailing list is down and i don't
know elsewhere to ask.
I have kernel-2.4.22-1-k7 running good and i compile kernel-2.6.0-test9 after
a while dealing with it, it runs but try to load the modules of 2.4.22. Some
modules load good but others like imput o
I've recently compiled and installed the letest ALSA driver in my Celeron
II system running Fedora One.
The sound card is an ALS4000 and I've carefully followed the detailed
instructions linked in the Soundcard Matrix.
I still have no sound.

Hello list,
I need some advice on the ALSA sequencer interface. In particular I'd
like to know if the following code can be safely used inside a real-time
audio thread, i.e. is it guaranteed not to block ?
As far as I've been able to find out, it should be safe.

So has anyone actually gotten the Echo Audio driver to work? I'm an
experienced Unix user, but hadn't installed linux anywhere until this weekend.
I downloaded and built the 1.0-pre Alsa and downloaded the Echo Audio stuff
and tried to follow his installation instructions, but got no joy. It looks
No, it doesn't have anything to do with 3d sound.
It's just that one channel is just at a very very very low volume when playing
normal (stereo) things. The only way to get something on the left channel is
with "monoishing" the sound using the "3d depth" slider.
BTW: If I switch PCM out to "post

I have a Terratec DMX XFire1024 (snd-cs46xx, using 1.0.0pre2) and the left
channel is practically muted or at least at a very very low volume (problem
already existed in some 0.9x-versions).
If I use the 3d depth slider, I can use the left channel but the overall

hi,
the /dev/sound/dsp uses 3 and the /dev/sound/adsp uses 12 . I want to switch
the char minor of those devices, because I can't record using dsp, but I can
record through adsp...
how can I accomplish this?

Hello list,
I heard rumours of a new pcm API in the latest releases of ALSA.
Searched on the ALSA site for 'new api', nothing found.
Is there any document that describes this new API and the rationale
for it ?

hi,
I've had problems with full-duplex, but when I did an arecord with 'hw:0,1' it
worked. question is: how do I set this to default or switch devices. I seem
not to have a asoundrc or anything like it (only /etc/asound.state ) and
settings in /etc/modules.conf
I'd like to change these setting

In most cases, yes.
It comes in handy if you have a bunch of MIDI bytes and don't want to
manage the complexity of parsing them and/or creating sequencer
