I've been having the same problem, however, running the ./snddevices
script doesn't do the trick.
I have a Creative Labs Extigy, and I followed the directions at

Hello all,
This is my first post, as this is the first trouble I've had with ALSA. My
problem is I just got a new computer. It's a MSI 865PE Neo2 mobo with an
onboard sound chip. The manual says it is "6 channel software audio codec
C-Media 9739A, compliance with AC97 v2.2 spec". So first i tr
I have an Audigy 2 and I have a bit of a problem. I've prowled all over
the net looking for this one, and I don't think I've missed any obvious
sources.
The Audigy2 plays just fine. Any sound fed by media players, games, etc,
are fine. WHat I cannot do is get ANY inputs running. I can't hear
hi,
I upgraded today to 2.6.3-ben2 on my powerbook and the mixer (alsamixer or

I have Gentoo and the 2.6.1-epia kernel running on my Via EPIA M1.
ALSA was working just fine, so I wandered off to another part of the
kernel to get my DVB-T card working properly. A few kernel compiles
later (to remove fb, ramdisks, and modularise the DVB stuff) I'm back,
and ALSA has di
Hi again!
I forgot. When I tried installing alsa-1.0.3 I still had problems.
1. Dshare still crashes the machine.
2. There is a volume problem. - Takashi: Could it by any chance be, that the

then it worked. But it
Hi all!
I used alsa09.5 with an m-audio delta 1010lt. I create a dshare plugin and I
could listen to a bit of sound for roughly 50 seconds. Then my machine would
crash. Any idea?
Another thing: When I tried using dshare and dsnoop in combination I'd get a
lot of xruns. This problems I get with
Hello all.
I notice this issue has been discussed[1] somewhat late last year.

In January, a patch[2] was posted to alsa-devel that may fix the problem.

Jaroslav, Clemens,
I've disabled MPU401 support in modprobe.conf. I still have no oss

Hello everybody,
I just bought a Maudio firewire 410 Interface

Hi,
thanks for help - this is getting interesting ...
I've made some slight changes to get this to work. I spot only one
problem and I ask whether this is just plain limitation or could I
avoid it:
- I start 3 instances of alsaplayer each on his own stereo channel
(plug:a, plug:b plug:c). Now
Hi,
I have been studying Roland XV-5050 managing through USB port few days
now, and been able to send "Set" commands with snd_rawmidi_write to
Roland USB module. But when trying to read e.g. Performance/Patch name
from the module with snd_rawmidi_read, I do not get any information from

Hey ho.
I am still bumfuzzled regarding my recurrent errors with my intel8x0
card in my NEC Versa P520 laptop. As far as I know, others with the
same laptop are not experiencing these semaphore errors.
The problem is that I often lose the soundcard completely, and see
these messages in /var/log/
