What kernel would you suggest? I've used both 2.6.3 and 2.6.4. I did
not build any of the default kernel sound stuff except soundcore.
Do you think it could be related to some other kernel option or the
optimization level? If it would be helpful, I could email you my
.config file. I'm runni
So u mean that I don't have to download the driver from ALSA ?
Just use the one that already detected in redhat ?
But how to fix the mixer settings then ?

Hi,
Just checked out 1.0.4rc1 a few moments ago and I'm already missing the
snd-usb-usx2y module. AFAICT it's not being included by
./configure --with-cards option, nor it gets built when one sets
--with-cards=all.
I am quite sure this was being built as of 1.0.3 and before. The source
files are
Hi,
I'm using ALSA 1.0.3. I compiled them and installed it. I have the
sound, but it seems there is no multiplexing. How do I enable
multiplexing with this card (AD1985 built in ASUS P8000 Deluxe) and
ALSA, so that I can get 2 applications output sounds interleaving. Right
now, when I play mus
Hi,
I've sucessfuly enabled 6 channel analog output as 3 stereo channels. Now
I'd like to get spdif output working on this device.
I have few short questions:
- how do I use/enable spdif device ?
- can I use it with dmix plugin ? (more apps can access spdif at the same
time ? )
- can I use spdif i
Thanks for those instructions. I didn't realize I had to set up USB
audio as a second sound card. I did that, and rebooted to make sure the
edits to modprobe.conf took hold; now 'alsamixer -c1' shows sliders fot
USB audio, but I still can't get any sound out of it.
What happens when you run "

You have to give mpu_port and fm_port parameters to the module to get
MIDI ports.
Add this to your modules.conf:
options snd-cmipci mpu_port=0x330 fm_port=0x388

My Dell laptop is running a fully-up-to-date SuSE 9.0 with kernel
2.6.5-rc2. Internal audio works fine on it, but I have a pair of Apple
USB Speakers that don't make any sound at all on it (though they work
fine on my Mac).
I've gone into alsamixer and tried raising all of the sliders, but
no
Hey,
i've tested this a long time now. The only solution i could find is to record the line Signal and play it to the SPDIF. I use there for arecord and aplay with "arecord -f dat -D linein | aplay -D default".
It works but the Soundquality is very bad and there is a little delay in the Sound!

"Soundmax" is the brand used by Analog Devices for their AC'97 codecs
