I've got a very strange problem with alsa. I am using Gentoo with kernel
version 2.6.4 and the latest alsa package (using different ones or even
using kernel 2.4.24 didn't help much). The problematic thing about my setup
is, that there are sliders in the mixer which vanish as soon as I stop
playing
I have an extigy.
I had it working fine until yesterday, and it still works in windows, but only
windows. line in works, though.

I'm looking at setting up a box/s to provide individual audio
streams to 15 pairs of sterio speakers, Iv'e set up a successful demo
machine with 5 x ens1371 cards + an onboard intel8x0 audio.
I have 2 questions if someone could please help.
1. Has anyone ever done this many output
