[Alsa-user] Can't get midi to work with ALSA 1.0.11

I have ALSA 1.0.11 and the 2.4.33.3 kernel (with Slackware 11), and I use the snd-intel8x0 module for my sound card. I used to have MIDI working when I was using an older kernel (it was somewhere between 2.4.22 and 2.4.26), and ALSA 1.0.9 (I think), but I can't get it to work with this version. (I
