Hello, ALSA users!
I've recently acquired m-audio revolution 7.1 card, that uses
snd-ice1724 driver. I have some issues with it, that I didn't manage
to cope with (alsa 1.0.11, kernel 2.6.17):
1. While I can properly adjust the volumes with alsamixer, "alsactl
restore" (on boot) only raises the v
You should see something along the lines of this in your dmesg output
after the audio freeze if it is the same problem:
Sequence Error!(hcd_frame=8 ep=8in;wait=65540,frame=4).
Most propably some urb of usb-frame 65540 is still missing.
Cause could be too long delays in usb-hcd interrupt handling.

I just got my very own Tascam US-122 in the mail yesterday! ...unfortunately,
I can only playback audio for anywhere between about 2 and 20 seconds - then
whatever application is playing back the audio freezes. For instance, when I
fire up Moby's "Drop a Beat" in xmms or rhythymbox, it will play t
All,
Do not overestimate the importance of latency. While for voice-over work and
punch-in/out work this is important, and while a lot of musicians cannot play
with latencies less than 0 ms, this is not necessary true for performing
musicians.
The performers get their feedback through the stag

hi all here is my problem..
i've got these three sound devices.. but everytime i turn on my pc, all
the sound is sent to the usb-phone, so i have to digit sudo alsaconf in
order to set the right output device, and then to load the snd-usb-audio

a possible solution could
Hi!
Recently, I played with the .asoundrc file a lot, but I'm running into
some problems again and again. The most frequent one is that plugins
don't seem to be compatible to each other. For example, I can't have
anything but a hw device as a slave of a multi device, I can't have a
route device as
Hi!
Just to make sure that I got you right: Basically, what you want to do
is use one sound card for certain media types (let's say video) and
another sound card for another type (maybe music).
If you change that problem a little bit, it is easy to solve. If you
want to use one sound card with on
Hi All
I'm currently building a new system for the living room to suit dual
purposes.
Primary - Video/TV PC (5.1) - audio player (stereo)
Secondary - recording room
What I want to do to make this easy is set it up so MythTV defaults to
the S/Pdif only for video on the MB and everything else d
Hi All
I was wondering if the soundcard matrix was going to be updated. It's
over a year since it was and alot of new cards/usb devices are now
available.
I'm building a dual purpose machine (media and netjack linked recording
room) for the living room and am at a loss as to what card I should
Hi Ronan
If you are careful with the partitioning part of the install Studio64
won't destroy your XP partition. I had a 64 bit and 32 bit version of
gentoo installed plus XP. I've now settled with 32 bit gentoo.
Personally, after trialling studio64 I went back to Gentoo.I found
studio 64 was too
