Hi,
I'm writing an app that generates and sends sound to the sound card via
ALSA. When I run it with a regular function call, everything works
fine. But I thought I could scavenge a few cycles by spawning the
write to alsa using snd_pcm_writei in a thread. So I modified the
function to unpack t
Hi,
This isn't a problem. I just configured the Chaintech AV710 card to
work on FC6 and thought I would post the results so others don't have
to do the research. Driver is ice1724.
The Wolfson DAC is the black receptacle right next to the SPDIF optical
output, back surr. That is where to plug

Okay, that's a VIVO90. snd-sscape does not work for this card, and not just
as a matter of a missing PnP ID. I suppose PnP Soundscapes exist for which
the driver is corr
Hi,
I found out that the problem was a bad optical cable. SPDIF input
works fine. Sorry for disturbing.

Only front two speakers work in my 5.1 surround system. If I set to
Duplicate Front, rear two work too when front have to, but center and
subwoofer still don't.
I use kubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04), 2.6.20-15-generic kernel and alsa version
1.0.13-3ubuntu1, which is the latest in (k)ubuntu repositori
Hi,
I've a weird problem with the integrated sound card of my ASUS P5GDC
motherboard and it's not related to the sound.
I cannot shutdown my computer if the snd-hda-intel module is loaded.
Computer stays to "Power down".
If I unload the module, it shuts down properly.
I'm actually using Ubuntu

I finally bought that card. The confusion is that the card is sold as
Aureon 5.1 PCI, but after unpacking I realized that it is actually
Aureon 5.1 Fun (the board is labeled so). The chipset is CMI 8738,
supported by ALSA module snd-cmipci. Until now I have tested SPDIF with
stereo PCI, Dolby D
