Jack problem is solved:
First, the UCG102 digital conversion is only 16 bits. Secondly, it
only samples at 3 rates - 32kHz, 44.1kHz and 48kHz. So I set Jackctl
to 16 bit and 44.1. Still no success.
I then abandoned Jackctl and went to jackd at the command line, and set
the Frames/Period to 10
I didn't really know where to post this, but I figured I'd start here. I've
got a strange problem where stepping up my CPU frequency while using the
acpi_cpufreq driver causes all currently-playing sounds/music to cut out,
often stalling the applications involved. My soundcard is the ATI IXP, which

Yes, but the writers of OSX know what the hardware manufacturers did. That
need not be true of
Sorry If I have not made clear the point that, under OS X, everything runs
smooth. Therefore, by means of software, I am certain that this can be
worked out.

Hi,
while we are on the subject of audio gifts - I was the lucky recipient
of an Ion USB Turntable. It works great with ALSA! For those of us who
care about these things it has a Burr-Brown chipset, on the possible
downside for the fully golden eared audiophile is the largely plastic

Are you able to provide some diagnostic information on this by running
jackd (or qjackctl) from the command line? It is proba
