I recently got a Plantronics .audio 910 USB headset.
It is correctly detected by snd-usb-audio and works, but I cannot change the
volume of the PCM output or the MIC input. When executing alsamixer -c 1,

snd_es1688. The following setting was used to load it:

could you publish the output of amixer -c 0?

are you aware of any problems in 1.015? you seem to be sure that an upgrade
to 1.0.16 could fix this issue?
