Hi folks, I'm new to the list and relatively new to Linux. I've been everywhere and I can't get a straight (or working) answer for something that is about to drive me nuts! I'm running the newest version of Knoppmyth. I'm using a Diamond XtremeSound 7.1 card that has the CMI8768 chipset.

Hello, Today I have managed to configure my Sony Vaio using the snd_hda_intel model=sony-assamd parameter in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base. However, if I want to be able to use this model selection, the Intel HDA driver has to be compiled as a module. Do you know if there is any way of building the
