Hi Guys,
i have the same mobo here and also the problem with choppy sound.
i tried various resample rates (as you suggested) but at no success ...
however, when the system is under heavy load (e.g. compiling some
packages on all 4 cpu cores) using a rate of 96000 khz nearly plays

Have you tried compiling newer alsa from git? I believe there were
some changes for that codec.

Hi,
First off, a big thanks to James Courtier-Dutton - I had given up on using
my card (E-mu 1820) but installed Linux (Ubuntu 8.04) again this summer only
to notice that there was now support!
I think I've just about got my head around controlling Jack, alsamixer and

Not an answer to your question, just question to you: do experience
latency issues when running jackd on this card on 44100?

I'll give that a shot, it was next on my list. I was hoping that I was just

I have decided not to mess with hda-intel, yesterday i have tried

Hi group,
Sorry for this post but I could not find the old one in the archives.
Awhile back I made a post about resetting ALSA on my FC6 system. I got
a response that a file should be removed but I can't reminder the name
of the
file?
My problem is that ALSA has stopped recording.

Hello,
I own this SB Audigy 4 Pro for about 2 years now.
Yeah, xruns - that's the one. If your system isn't configured for
low-latency work [1], you usually get a lot of them until you set big
buffer. Can you test with bigger buffers?
I believe (and I would like to confirm that it's not just me) that
card works perfectly on 48000 and not so great on
Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to diagnose sound issues on my newer HP laptop (a

Sounds works with the snd_hda_intel driver, using the realtek chipset,
but only under certain conditions. Mic input does not work at all at

Greetings.
can anyone tell me how to find out which processes are using an ALSA
driver and preventing it from being unloaded.
I know that lsof /dev/snd will tell me who has these files open, but
often this shows nothing and still the driver can't be unloaded.
Where else should I look?

Not only files, but also other modules will prevent alsa drivers from being
unloaded. If you do
