Pulse audio allows this and makes it fairly easy (if you have pulse
installed). I did something a bit different (but same concept) as

Hi folks,
I have an application that uses the microphone and I'd like to share the
source with other applications, e.g.: arecord.
I've tried to modify my .asoundrc using dsnoop as indicated in [1]. The mic
keeps working for the application but arecord
outputs this error:
