Would be nice with a non-locking /dev/dsp like in the old days
with certain linux supporting sound cards like emu10k1
Nothing worse than getting the locking error over and over again, for years.
First with OSS, now with alsa.
I hope alsa in the future will give me a simple device name like

Hmmm... I think I know which process this is, but I don't want to
stop/kill it. How can I ask ALSA to mix the two?

In kernel 3.14 there appeared a new driver for ASUS Xonar DGX soundcard. In
previous driver version the headphone amplifier on Xonar DGX was
unsupported.
It is very important feature as this soundcard is developed specifically
for headphones, and without working headphone amplifier it
