1. Lack of throughput speed. A certain amount is cached, and then it runs
out things go wrong. OR
2. Something else wakes up (e.g. nic replies to an arp query or something)
and it hangs.
So, pull the nic, and try again. Also, try using ps/2 KB

Hi all,
I have a strange problem with alsa and the thinkpad's firmware beeps.
If I use a kernel = 2.6.30, I can't hear any beeps generated by
thinkpad bios (or thinkpad_acpi module).
I open a bug on alsa's bugtracker, but seems that is ignored:

Cut to the chase.
In /usr/src/linux*/Documentation/sound/alsa there are 2 docs of interest.
One is HD-Audio.txt giving the various options. I decided to start with
correcting my model. (Mine is amd/ati but identifies as Analog devices)
HD-Audio-Models.txt gives the parameters for the model
Hi. I have this sb600 chip

I have a similar chip to you. Audio works for me, and I can pass on any

writing and no level for the mic :-/. I did discover this little bit in the
wiki and am going off to experiment
