Little annoynce here: debian lenny, alsa 1.0.17, C-Media CMI8738, configurable
line-in. Forgets its a line in every now and then, comes up as "rear out"
sometimes.
Bug?

I'm rather new to optical outputs - I'd like to connect the optical out of an
Terratec Aureon 5.1 to an amp and a headphone to the analog out jack.
Now - do both outputs give the same signal per default? Can I switch from amp
to headphone in software somehow?

Just tested the device on a debian lenny box - works a charm with alsa with no
asoundrc at all. kub 8.04 and lenny have the same alsa version, wth?

I just can't figure how to conf that audio stick.
Here's the alsa-info:

Kubuntu 8.04.
Players say for example:
dex...@shodan:~$ mplayer -ao alsa 01\ -\ sleep\ is\ wrong.mp3
MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Tea
Last time I checke there was no support for there, what's the status
meanwhile?
If supported, any drawbacks I should know about?

Evaluation? Sounds to me like another one trying to make a buck on the
linux-for-the-masses hype.
