Hello,
I still have lots of hiccups when playing DVB or other stuff.
First I thought pulseaudio is the source for trouble and I disabled it.
But disabling pulseaudio did not help much, audio still drops out from
time to time. It only happens when using my bluetooth headset from
Jabra. With a wir

BT audio is run by this libasound bluetooth library? Thus BT audi
Why is a bluetooth headset not listed in /proc/asound/cards? USB devices
like webcams do appear there, but why no bluetooth headphone?
As a result mixers like KDE kmix do not show bluetooth devices either
and you cannot change the volume of BT devices there. Why is this?

Hello,
is there a GUI tool to change output device for media player on the fly?
For pulseaudio there is pavucontrol, this allows to map an output device
to a media player on the fly, while playing stuff.
Pulseaudio is not an option for me, it seems to be totally broken when
it comes to bluetooth
Hello,
I managed to get my Jabra Halo bluetooth headset working with ALSA on

When I do mplayer -ao alsa:device=btheadset Wrong.mp3 I can enjoy the music.
But, how do I change volume now?
When I invoke amixer -D btheadset I only get

Hello,
I have already solved this issue once, but forgot how I did it
After installing openSUSE 12.1 a problem occured again I once solved.

Hi there,
regarding my other webcam microphone issue I now know where the problem is...
With this command I can record voice with my webcam just fine:
arecord -vv -D hw:1,0 -c 1 -f S16_LE --rate=18000-v test.wav
But, I always have to specify the 18000 Hz sample rate. How or better asked

Hello!
I google all day long just to find out what C-Media chip the Asus Xonar D1
uses...
According to the project site, kernel 2.6.27 and ALSA 1.0.18 supports it. But,
what I am keen to know is whether this card supports hwmix which is important
to me to get fluid sound.
Thanx

Hello,
I have a Philips SPC 620 NC webcam and i have loaded the snd-usb-audio module.
But, when I record my voice, e.g. with Skype. The sound is played back much to
fast, so I sound like Mickey Mouse (or Donald Duck).
What could cause this behaviour?
Thanx

Hi there,
when I use Skype 2.0.0.72 on Linux I get an error:
RtApiAlsa: callback thread error (RtApiAlsa: audio write error for device (C-

Hi there!
Is there some equalizer application for ALSA? I'm not talking about mixers,
like amixer, kamixer and such, but a real qualizer to adjust frequencies.
I know VLC media player has a builtin equalizer, but it would be nice to have
a standalone equalizer to adjust sound generally.
Thanx

Hi there,
when I run Skype I get "RtApiAlsa: overrun detected" when I try to make a test
call and then audio just hangs.
Google told this is said to be a buffer issue, so what can I do now? Increase
buffers? What would I have to write down in asoundrc?
This is a Terratec card with CMEDIA 8738
Hi there,
to increase buffer size I created a ~/.asoundrc with the following content, my
question is just, is this the right syntax? I have one card, a EMU10K1 based

To be sure I added now the following to

You talk about the kernel module configuration for ALSA? This is what I
found:
/etc/modprobe.d/sound (openSUSE 10.3), content:

Hello,
I have a Philips SPC620NC webcam, connected via USB and using the
uvcvvideo driver. Video is fine, but I can't get the internal
microphone working.
I have the needed USB sound modules loaded and I checked (hopefully
correctly) with alsamixer that nothing is muted.
