I've tried that before but it don't work. The alsamixer frontend doesn't work properly. I can control the Volumes of the devices neither. But that is a problem with the drivers i think.

i've tested this a long time now. The only solution i could find is to record the line Signal and play it to the SPDIF. I use there for arecord and aplay with "arecord -f dat -D linein | aplay -D default".
It works but the Soundquality is very bad and there is a little delay in the Sound!
