Hello! Perhaps you gays can help me. I asked several forums and Sigmatel itself how to configure my Sigmatel STAC9758/59 onboard-soundchip on my Fujitsu-Siemens mainboard D1607 under SuSE Linux 9.1. No one could help me. Sigmatel only wrote back that they fully support the Linux-Community but i have to ask www.alsa-project.org . I found no "ALSA-Forum" so ... here i am and use a malinglist for the first time ever :). My Problem is that my Mainboard has three "Soundcard connectors" (+ additonally MicrophoneIN and StereoOUT as frontpannel) which can be used vor different channels. e.g.: LineIN, StereoOUT, Microphone (Stereo) or: StereoOUTRear, StereoOUTFront, Microphone (4 Channel Surround) or: StereoOUTRear, StereoOUTFront, Center (5.1 Surround) Under Windows XP a little Tool from Sigmatel can change these settings. There i can also choose if Front or Rear MicrophoneIN should be used. Now under SuSE 9.1 the Soundchip is recognized and i can hear Stereosound. My Problem now is that i have a Pinnacle PCTV TV-card which works, but i don't hear any Sound when the TV-card is connectet over a external cable with LineIN or MicrophoneIN. Also my micro (Headset) doesn't produce any Sound. I already pushed all Channels to the max with ALSAmixerGUI. I also saw that ALSAmixerGUI has some "channels" named "Micro Select" or "4 Surround select" but "loudness" of these channels cannot be changed by ALSAmixerGUI. Now who can i configure ALSA to have the StereoOUTRear, StereoOUTFront, Microphone (4 Channel Surround) version? So i'd like to use my 4 Channel Surround speakers and connect my TV-card to rear MicrophoneIN. And how can i switch front and rear MicrophoneIN to use my headset with front MicroIN? If you need further information please mail me. CU Michael Sturm PS: Please excuse if my English isn't perfect. I'm from Germany. _____________________________________________________________________ Der WEB.DE Virenschutz schuetzt Ihr Postfach vor dem Wurm Netsky.A-P!
