Hello. I apologize if this has been asked before.
I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a Gravis Ultrasound Classic to work with ALSA. I've never been able to. The most I've ever gotten is ear piercing tones or really scratchy sound. I thought I would try the latest ALSA in hopes that is might work. It sort of does. That is to say, I can set the output levels with alsactl and alsamixer, but other things such as aplay just spit out error messages. I can not get anything to actually output sound. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. In case it helps, here's my system: PPro 200MHz Gravis Ultrasound Classic rev2.4 port=0x220 irq=9 dma1=6 dma2=7 Linux 2.4.20 with lowlatency patch devfs is enabled Thank you. - Peter ===== The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Proverbs 9:10 __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
