I've installed slackware 9.1 and leave the default settings for ALSA, but I have a strange problem with my alsa driver: when I open an audio file, for example with mpg123, I get an error that says"ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1055:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed: Permission denied" but audio works well. If I open the same file with the same mpg123, I don't get that error but the sound is very bad. Why? P.S. with XFree audio works well also for root.
