I upgraded from beta7 to the latest version two days ago (I have an SB PCI 512 -- same as SBLive). When I did so, although no problems show up with the standard 4 MIDI ports, I get no sound when trying to play to them.
I wasn't sure if the problem was in the fact that sfxload is the recommended way to load the SoundFont (which I believe goes through the OSS compatibility layer), or if there was some other kind of problem. Is there an ALSA native soundfont loader for the SBLive / PCI 512?
Also, as far as I can tell, OSS compatibility doesn't seem to extend completely to all the devices available (particularly from the mixer). How can I get access to the rest of the SBLive devices, including the additional MIDI devices, additional PCM devices, etc.?
Lastly, is there any way to control the environmental effects of the SBLive / PCI 512 via ALSA?
