I have switched over from a Thinkpad 390E to a Thinkpad 390X. The
hardware is virtually identical between the two models, but I'm having
trouble on the 390X. Sound playback is 1/3 to 1/4 normal speed, and
even the slow slow is kinda 'chirpy' and choppy. All other hardware
works fine.

I'm fairly curious at to the cause of a problem I have on my 390X
laptop. It's a ES1969 chip, and everything is configured as it should
be, and I'm using Mandrake 9.2 with ALSA 0.9.6.
What's happening is that the sound playback is slow, 1/3 to 1/4 of
