I'm trying to debug my sound issues after upgrading my box from mandriva
2006 to mandriva 2008 and Alsa 1.0.12 to Alsa 1.0.15. Since the update, I
cant get sound from tvtime using the analog audio cable. I would appreciate
to have some more information on how to decide if the is
kernel 2.6.22.9-desktop586-1mdv

I had a similar problem with my HDA-INTEL card.
Tweaking my modprobe did the trick :
I only had :
alias sound-slot-0 snd_hda_intel
And I changed my modprobe so it looked like that :
alias sound-slot-0 snd_hda_intel
options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=auto

Well, basically, I want the sound to come out of my TV using only the HDMI
cable. Right now, I have only the display working but would like to have
the sound too.

I have no experience with you card but I do have some with HDMI. So far, it
seems that NVidia driver on linux do not correctly support HDMI audio.
Out of curiosity can you post the result of :
cat /proc/asound/cards
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec ( repeat this line for
card0, car

chipset wich reports the codec to be Chrontel HDMI.
I have tried making the HDMI sound work on a Aliza sound chipset and ATI
