I have finally got my system to produce some sound after installing
alsa0.9.5. So far the only thing I've been able to hear is the
pass-through of audio from the line in. I really need to be able to hear
captured audio. So, as I've read on the lists, I've used alsamixer to
mute the pass-through of line and set line for capture. The instructions
I'm following say if I use aplay /dev/dsp1 I should hear the captured
audio. However when I do that, aplay says no such device. I looked in
/dev and there is a /dev/dsp1.
I also used aplay to try to play a .wav file but I didn't hear anything.
Anyone have any suggestions for getting to the bottom of this?
