Hi all,

I using Alsa 0.9.8 on Gentoo Linux and I'm having a problem with the emu10k1 driver. I tried to get some help in the Gentoo forums regarding this as they're usually quite helpful however for this issue, there appears to be no help.

Here is the problem. Any time I utilize the alsa driver to play a sound, the last half second of the sound continues to repeat (like an echo) with about .5 seconds of delay until a new sound is played. I've been utilizing the oss module for things like xmms and mplayer which works without a hitch but other applications just don't want to behave (or rather, the driver does not want to behave). This happens as root or normal user.

Is there anyone out there who has had a similar problem? If so, how did you manage to solve it?

This is a SoundBlaster Live Platinum w/LiveDrive.

The following is my modules.conf section:

alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1

alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss

alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss

options snd cards_limit=1
options snd-emu10k1 extin=0x3fc3 extout=0x1fcf

If any other info will help, please let me know and I will provide.

Thank you!
Paul
