I have an ISA Ensoniq Soundscape card (circa 1995-6) that I can't get
to work.

The BIOS recognizes it:
   Initializing Plug and Play Cards
   Card-01: ENSONIQ Soundscape

isapnp recognizes it:
   isapnp: Scanning for PnP cards
   isapnp: Card 'ENSONIQ Soundscape'
isapnp: 1 Plug & Play card detected total

and that's it. I've tried modprob'ing in snd-sscape & the other
snd-*-oss modules and running alsamixer or system-config-soundcard.
No luck. What should I do?

On shutdown I get an error:
Saving mixer settings auxmix: error opening mixer [FAILED]

Details:
Motherboard is an ABit AH6, BIOS is Award v4.51PG, there's some PnP
BIOS extension v1.0A. I've tried Yes and No settings for 'PnP OS'.
OS was originally Redhat 8, upgraded to FC1, upgraded to FC2-test1.
The sound card came in a GW2k box purchased in Feb 1996. It worked
under Win95/98 back when I had that OS.

Is there other output from dmesg or /proc that would be helpful?

Thank you very much!!!
-Dan
