If you want to live at the bleeding edge then checkout latest ALSA CVS
sources, read instructions at http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=27464
Maybe just copying the CS46xx.conf file to /usr
Benny, is any reason why 'surround40' device doesn't work with the CS46xx
driver? The configuration is in alsa-lib/src/conf/CS46xx.conf .
That looks good to me. Doing some quick tests with xine surround40 seems
to work
just fine.

Is there anybody that knows how to make surround 40 work? I have posted
messages in the users and developers lists, but it seems that nobody has
an answer to the problem. Help please!
