I have an HP vectra Pentium 3 with (terrible) on board sound card intel8x0.
I compile ALSA stable (0.9...) in kernel 2.4.25 (woody).Every thinks works well!! :-))))
But "alsactl store" don't save permanently, after reboot I have to do alsaconf!!! (Sorrry but I'm not expert).
Using XMMs,I have to use OSS emulation,for listening music.
But the first play begin after many seconds! It's normal???
