This already came up but doesn't seem to be resolved. I have a Terratec DMX XFire 1024. Hardware MIDI doesn't work (at least via OSS emulation).
Question 1: how can I test MIDI support, i.e. what is a program that uses the ALSA MIDI interface? Question 2: I also have some problems under windows: sometimes I can get sound out of MIDI, sometimes not. If MIDI doesn't work, rebooting always finishes by making it work (and then it works fine, i.e. for any length of time, until the next reboot).
