Hi everyone!

I've installed ALSA 0.93c on my system. After some foolish problems the drivers were running and i got a totally deformated sound out of the soundcard. It sounds like an overmodulated signal that was muted down to a normal volume after the overmodulation.
I have checked the mixer properties and tried out to regulate some channels and to mute ununsed channels but it did not solve the problem.
Has anyone an idea where the problem is?

My system:

Debian 3.0 Linux with 2.4.20 kernel,
ALSA 0.93c using the YMFPCI module
Soundcard is a Yamaha YMF-740C [DS-1L Audio Controller] (rev 3)
It is the only card using the irq, no sharing

Thanks

Carsten
