I followed the instructions from: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php? company=Creative+Labs&card=Soundblaster+Live+Platinum&chip=EMU10K1&module=emu10k 1 all compilation was successfull. but # modprobe snd-emu10k1 /lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/ac97/snd-ac97-cod
