Sorry, but I am not able to test the patch because I use the precompiled
DEbian Kernel to save diskspace...
I will soon test the patch on my scratch-pc :-)
BTW., is the bug still present in linux-2.4.[16,17]

If I run the ./snddevices script on the mounted devfs All works fine.
I am using the alsa-modules debian archive which is
