HI!
Did you unmute the items in alsamixer? You can do that by pressing 'm' when
on an item. With m you can toggle mute, unmute. That's all I can think of.

a question about alsamixer.
I have modules loaded and have cranked up all the
alsamixer settings but dont have sound...maybe because
in the Item: section next to each category is [off]
example Master [off]
master digital [off]
master digital 1 [off]
etc... is there a way to change off to [on],
