I'm having trouble cross compiling alsa-driver (1.0.12rc1). It's complaining:
"checking for which soundcards to compile driver for... configure: error: Unsupported soundcard via82xx" I have run make on the kernel, and make modules_install: make ARCH=i386 CROSS_COMPILE=i686-linux- -C /data/stv/trunk/build/ kernel/linux-2.6.17 sudo make ARCH=i386 CROSS_COMPILE=i686-linux- -C /data/stv/trunk/ build/kernel/linux-2.6.17 modules_install INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/data/stv/ trunk/build/kernel/modules below is the full output from configure... any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks PATH=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin:/ data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/toolchain_build_i686/bin:/bin:/sbin:/ usr/bin:/usr/sbin AR=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/ staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-ar AS=/data/stv/trunk/build/ buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-as LD=/data/ stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux- uclibc-ld NM=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/ bin/i686-linux-uclibc-nm CC=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/ build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc GCC=/data/stv/trunk/ build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc CXX=/ data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux- uclibc-g++ CPP=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/ bin/i686-linux-uclibc-cpp RANLIB=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/ build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-ranlib STRIP=/data/stv/ trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc- strip OBJCOPY=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/ bin/i686-linux-uclibc-objcopy \ CFLAGS="-Os -pipe " \ ./configure \ --target=i686-linux \ --host=i686-linux \ --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu \ --with-isapnp=no \ --with-sequencer=no \ --with-oss=no \ --with-debug=detect \ --with-kernel=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/../kernel/ linux-2.6.17 \ --with-build=/data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/../kernel/ linux-2.6.17 \ --with-cards=via82xx \ checking for i686-linux-gcc... /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/ build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out checking whether the C compiler works... yes checking whether we are cross compiling... yes checking for suffix of executables... checking for suffix of object files... o checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes checking whether /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/ staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc accepts -g... yes checking for /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/ bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc option to accept ANSI C... none needed checking for i686-linux-ranlib... /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/ build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-ranlib checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking how to run the C preprocessor... /data/stv/trunk/build/ buildroot/build_i686/staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-cpp checking for egrep... grep -E checking for ANSI C header files... yes checking for an ANSI C-conforming const... yes checking for inline... inline checking whether time.h and sys/time.h may both be included... yes checking whether /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/build_i686/ staging_dir/bin/i686-linux-uclibc-gcc needs -traditional... no checking for current directory... /data/stv/trunk/build/buildroot/ build_i686/alsa-driver-1.0.12rc1 checking cross compile... checking for directory with kernel source... /data/stv/trunk/build/ buildroot/../kernel/linux-2.6.17 checking for directory with kernel build... /data/stv/trunk/build/ buildroot/../kernel/linux-2.6.17 checking for kernel linux/version.h... yes checking for kernel linux/autoconf.h... yes checking for kernel version... 0.0.0 checking for GCC version...
