Hello I have sound card ESS Solo - 1 Audiodrive,alsa 0.9rc1, kernel 2.4.18.
Any alsa program output the following: # alsamixer ALSA lib control.c:601:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory If I specify a card that I receive: # alsamixer -c 0 ALSA lib control.c:601:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hw:0 alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for hw:0: No such file or directory I check my /dev directory. It looks like all necessary files are exist (/dev/dsp*, /dev/sndstat, /dev/mixer*, /dev/audio* and etc.). I'm not use devfs. All kernel modules are loaded normally. Directory /proc/asound also exists. I had run "snddevices" script many times with loaded kernel modules and without it, nothing happens.
