Ah, so I don't. Surprising, at least to a newbie. It all compiled and
installed OK. Thanks.
BUT - now it's not finding any sound cards at all! Even after a reboot. And
I've not changed the hardware config at all. This is getting silly.

Fixed since rc8c. Try a newer release or CVS.
