Using stock install redhat 7.2 with aopen AW744 pro card (YMFPCI) with the following configure:
./configure --with-cards=ymfpci --with-oss=yes --with-sequencer=no --with-kernel=/usr/src/linux-2.4 Everything compiles and depmod -a reports no problem but when I try to modprobe: /sbin/modprobe -v snd-card-ymfpci /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o Using /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o Symbol version prefix '' /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_device_new_R8da87233 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_info_register_R502eac23 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_unregister_device_Ra957ac58 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_info_free_entry_Rff5d25b0 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_info_unregister_R3b5c92d3 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_info_create_module_entry_R462578ab /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: unresolved symbol snd_register_device_Rf118dfc0 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/misc/snd-timer.o: insmod snd-card-ymfpci failed This seems really weird, because when I look at the source code, I see all these symbols defined in the alsa/kernel code. I've tried 3 different releases of alsa (0.9.0beta8a, 0.9.0beta10, and 0.9.0beta12) with the same result. This is especially frustrating and perplexing since I had had no trouble installing alsa (version number forgotten) on the same hardware previously with the same redhat version, but my disk got buggered and I had to reformat and reinstall. Can anyone help? Bill _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
