Hi,
Please help me to get into the amrecover prompt.

We're happily running amanda 2.4.5 right now. I'm wondering if we should
move toward 2.5.1. I don't see the advantages for us. Are major bug fixes
still issued for 2.4.5 ?
If we move to 2.5.1, will we be able to recover the backups we made with
2.4.5. Do we have to upgrade all the clients and
We're moving from solaris sparc 2.6 9 toward solaris 10 x86 on a couple of
servers.
Should I expect problems with amanda ?
We're still running 2.4.5
So, I have this machine which had all its filesystems being backed up by
AMANDA, and the /dev/sda died.
Is there a method I can use to boot from, say, Ubuntu, or knoppix, or
some other CD-based OS, run the AMANDA client, connect to the server
where the latest backups reside, and basically rebuild

Doing almost exactly that with nothing but a cd with dd tar gzip on it,

I can throw in some more too-little-too-late
