Hi All,
I have 5 main server to archive. The largest one is about 6TB (RAID 5)
containing 70% of my DLEs both in numbers and data volume. Amanda
does a good job of running parallel dumps at the start of each run,

Not really an Amanda question but I'll try anyway...
I can't get better than ~60MiBs to LTO4 tape when using amtapetype.
I tried 32k 1024k and 2048k, with and without hw compression enabled.

D'oh! I was pinging just the machine name and not the fully qualified
name and it turns out it was a problem with the name service
configuration file.
A line in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file needed to be changed from

We've heard tell of some strange behavior on an IBM 3573-TL changer.
Does anyone have one of these, who might be able to verify this?
First, when a tape is moved from a storage element to a data transfer
element (from a storage slot to a drive, for mere mortals), the drive
seems to misidentify
