I'd like to be able to back up some of my machines to a holding disk at
arbitrary times.
For example, I run backups every night at 0100. Some laptop users are
unable to leave their machines overnight. I'd like to be able to start a
backup for their laptop(s) only, with the results going to the ho
Well, it -looked- like it was fixed. A few days ago I asked for help on an
amanda problem on one of our nodes. Backups were failing- the mail report
included the line:
node1 / lev -1 FAILED [no estimate]
And other messages in the node's log files such as "runtar: error [must be

Thank you all for your help. I solved the problem by reinstalling Amanda.

I'm having a problem with amanda backups on one node in our group of linux
boxes.
The error in the daily report reads:
node1 / lev -1 FAILED [no estimate]

the business day the laptops don't disappear before being backed up.

Hi,
I have a problem with the 8.5 x 11 'file list' that I print out in leu of a
tape label. No matter how many partitions Amanda has backed up I seem to
get only one page from the 8.5x11.ps template. Any suggestions for getting
a multi-page list?
Thanks,
